Change usually takes a long time. During this process your frustrated inner caterpillar might feel like cursing out your cocoon. Or setting it on fire. Or filling it with rocks. Or telling it that it's way too slow and probably the worst cocoon that ever existed. All of these feelings are understandable, but they sabotage the change you are trying to make. Change is a cycle and every stage matters. Though it can feel weirdly good for a bit, self flagellation lowers energy and makes it even harder for you to reach your goals. Practicing self appreciation along the change route—though it may feel cheesy— is the best way to speed things along. So love your squishy caterpillar parts, appreciate the sturdiness of your cocoon and celebrate each little butterflyication when it happens. Even the tiniest wings are beautiful.
